During your PADI Rescue Diver programme you will learn how to anticipate, prevent and manage potential diving accidents. From assisting a tired diver to handling emergency scenarios, you will practice applying the knowledge and skills that can make all the difference in the event problems do arise. This is probably the best training programme you could ever take, keeping you and others safe in the water.
Before you can start your PADI Rescue Diver programme you will need to hold a recognised certificate in first aid. If you do not hold a first aid certification you can complete the Emergency First Response (EFR) programme before you can start your Rescue Diver programme.
How do I get started?
As with all of the diving education programmes at Aquasport you start with the training materials. A deposit of £75 is required to book your Rescue Diver with Aquasport International. We will provide you with the PADI Rescue Diver manual & accompanying materials.
What will I do?
Until now the emphasis of your training has been on basic accident prevention and safe diving. The PADI Rescue Diver programme takes you to the next level, expanding your knowledge to include accident management and various rescue techniques.
You will have three days of intense rescue training to complete. In our fully equipped multi-media classrooms you will learn how to deal with many different scenarios, from how to deal with a simple jellyfish sting to assisting with the emergency services in a full blown missing diver scenario.
You will put into practice what you learn in a combination of skills in the pool and open water culminating in a day of scenarios at one of our local open water dive sites. Never before will you have been so challenged in your diving skills and in what you have learnt.
How long will it take?
The Rescue Diver programme takes place over two weekends starting on the Sunday you will complete the theory sections from the PADI Rescue Diver Manual. The following Saturday and Sunday will cover all the practical sessions.
